Today, our first-year students went on an excursion to @cricket.kg — the first cricket farming facility in Central Asia. We had the chance to see the entire cultivation process and learn why this business is so promising. The farm's director @gaparovadil Adyl Gaparov shared valuable insights into the benefits of crickets in the food industry, their eco-friendliness, and their high protein content (around 70%!).
💬 Impressions from the students: 📌 "I really enjoyed it! It was interesting to learn that crickets contain so much protein, and the process of raising them was fascinating. I didn’t expect there to be such farms in Bishkek, or that this business could bring in good income. The product itself turned out to be tasty, though it was a bit unusual at first!"
📌 "It was super interesting, fried crickets taste like crackers!"
📌 "It was really cool, I’ve never seen anything like this before!"
📌 "At first, a cricket farm may seem strange, but in reality, everything is well thought out: clean conditions, proper nutrition, special care. These insects are not only a source of protein but are also beneficial to the environment. It was interesting to observe their life cycle and realize how much labor goes into this business!"
Such trips help students look at business from a new perspective, broaden their horizons, and show the importance of innovations in ecology and nutrition. Thanks to @cricket.kg and @gaparovadil Adyl Gaparov for the opportunity to see everything with our own eyes! 🙌✨
