Acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Ravshan Sabirov held a meeting on the preparation and holding of the First Economic Forum "Central Asia-European Union" in Bishkek this year.

According to Ravshan Sabirov, the initiative of the Kyrgyz side to open a new platform for partnership in the green economy between the EU and Central Asian states was supported by all parties. It is planned that the Forum will bring together not only representatives of the countries of Central Asia and the EU, but also a wider range of representatives of other countries.

"It is expected that the first meeting of the EU-CA Economic Forum will be held in July 2021 with the participation of the Prime Ministers of the Central Asian states, the leadership of the European institutions, a number of other leaders of the EU member states, as well as representatives of the business of the Central Asian states and the EU. The Forum will pay special attention to the promotion of innovative, energy - and resource-saving projects of a cross-border nature within the framework of the partnership in promoting the green economy, " the Acting Deputy Prime Minister said.

Ravshan Sabirov said that the European Union allocates 1.3 trillion rubles. euro for the development of a green economy. The EU-CA partnership in this area is designed to strengthen cooperation in the field of resource conservation and environmental protection on the continent.

"We believe that the EU-CA economic platform reflects and unites the economic interests of the participating countries. In this regard, the Kyrgyz Republic has put forward the initiative of the Secretariat of the representatives of the participating countries as a single governing body for cooperation with the headquarters in Bishkek."

As noted, the forums will be held on a rotating basis in different countries of Central Asia. For conducting the The first economic forum of the EU-Central Asia in Bishkek, Ravshan Sabirov instructed to create The Organizing Committee is responsible for its preparation and implementation at a high level, and all government agencies are required to prepare relevant projects that require investment for consideration with potential partners and presentation at the Forum.
